When we are at peace within ourselves then we can become a channel of peace for others.
Jesus provided us with a template of the perfect way of living, which was himself and the way he conducted himself during his life on earth.
One of Jesus’ disciples, Thomas, could not believe Jesus had risen from the dead without first seeing the wounds from his crucifixion.
Some interpret this as two people, or countries fighting, to cease and remember God’s peace, but there is another way of looking at it.
David wasn’t focused on the size of the giant; he was focused on the size of the God of Israel..
These two short parables are very similar and teach the same lesson, that the Kingdom of God is priceless and we could not buy it even if we were the richest person in the world.
So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:34 NRSV
Far too many people go about their whole lives quite unaware of God’s glory in their midst, just taking the beauty and drama that surrounds them for granted.
The story of Daniel and the Lions demonstrates that the God of Abraham is a living God, who makes plans and carries them out, he knows where he is taking the world and nothing can stop him.
As the vineyard owner gave another year of life to the tree. So God in His mercy grants us another day, another hour, another breath to take the opportunity of turning to him and becoming all that is within us to reach our full potential.
Pause to reflect on the vastness and mystery of God’s creation. Psalm 139 says he knew us before we were born when he knitted us together in our mother’s womb and he knew how many days we would live on earth.
Jesus is saying in this parable that those who love Jesus will treat others with kindness, serving them as if they were serving Christ Himself.
When we struggle with progress in our lives; the thing is to not complain, but rather give thanks and praise to God and live strong and courageously with hope in Jesus – then watch the walls blocking your path come down.
