Far too many people go about their whole lives quite unaware of God’s glory in their midst, just taking the beauty and drama that surrounds them for granted.
The story of Daniel and the Lions demonstrates that the God of Abraham is a living God, who makes plans and carries them out, he knows where he is taking the world and nothing can stop him.
As the vineyard owner gave another year of life to the tree. So God in His mercy grants us another day, another hour, another breath to take the opportunity of turning to him and becoming all that is within us to reach our full potential.
Pause to reflect on the vastness and mystery of God’s creation. Psalm 139 says he knew us before we were born when he knitted us together in our mother’s womb and he knew how many days we would live on earth.
Jesus is saying in this parable that those who love Jesus will treat others with kindness, serving them as if they were serving Christ Himself.
When we struggle with progress in our lives; the thing is to not complain, but rather give thanks and praise to God and live strong and courageously with hope in Jesus – then watch the walls blocking your path come down.
Psalm 6 is more of a lament, which is not often spoken of in the culture of today. However, I believe that it can be a healthy release to open our hearts to God and let him know all our troubles.
The first three commandments pertain to our relationship with God. The last seven commandments pertain to our relationships with one another.
Reflecting on the story of Noah in March 2022, I ponder that often in life, things seem to get worse before they get better, but that it is through trials and tribulations that we grow the most spiritually.
Ashes were often referred to as a sign of mourning for personal and/or national disaster, as a sign of repentance, and at times of prayers for deliverance.
God is always there for us. He knew us before we were born, he knows the numbers of hairs on our head and has a plan for our lives. He wants us to fulfill the dreams he has for our eternal destinies.
In St Luke’s recording of Jesus’ transfiguration, it is clear that God is positioning Jesus as an authority above the prophets who had gone before. This does not diminish the teachings of the Old Testament prophets in any way though.
God promised Abraham that he would be a great nation, his descendants would outnumber the stars in the sky, and that through him – his offspring and all humankind would be blessed,
Lighthouses save lives, but Jesus, our lighthouse, saves souls. In both good and bad times, he offers us strength, hope, and guidance with his light.
Jesus offers all the hope of eternal life through faith in him. But what does eternal life mean, what does it look like?
Some reflections of mine on this gigantic question.
Without hope, we live in indifference or despair even, so why not live out our lives in the hope of God’s promises?
