Holy Tuesday: A Day to Listen and Learn

Holy Tuesday; A Day to Learn from Jesus’ Gentle Wisdom

If Holy Monday invited us to slow down and notice what really matters, Holy Tuesday gently asks us to take the next step: to listen.

Yesterday was about paying attention to the inner clutter we carry. Today is about opening ourselves to wisdom that might meet us in that quiet space. (If you missed the Holy Monday reflection, you can find it here:

Scripture tell us that Jesus spent much of the day teaching in the Tuesday before he died.

Crowds gathered around Him—some curious, some confused, some sceptical, and some deeply moved. Mark 13

It’s a surprisingly relatable scene.

When His Words Stir Something Hopeful Within Us

Whenever we explore something new—faith, purpose, relationships, or even our own inner life—we often find ourselves in that same mix of curiosity and uncertainty.

But Holy Tuesday isn’t about having everything worked out.

It’s about being willing to listen, even when we’re not sure what we think yet.

It’s about giving ourselves permission to explore without pressure, to ask questions without fear, and to let wisdom meet us where we are.

Listening, in this sense, isn’t passive. It’s a position of openness. It’s choosing to pause long enough to notice what resonates, what challenges us, and what quietly stirs something hopeful inside.

So today, you could ask: What might Jesus be trying to teach me about life, love, or purpose?  Not in a heavy or demanding way, but as an invitation.

You might ask yourself; What if there’s something in his teachings—that could help you live with more clarity or compassion?

Because Holy Tuesday reminds us that wisdom often begins with listening.

And sometimes, the smallest moment of openness can become the start of something unexpectedly meaningful.
