God is depicted as an Eagle offering shelter under its gigantic wings in Psalm 91, because no one in their right mind is going to challenge this bird’s fledglings!
Those hearing this parable would have understood that Jesus was saying that the church was for anyone who believed in him regardless of race or creed.
The Surrender Prayer is beautiful, comforting and soothing. It provides emotional and spiritual strength, particularly when used in extreme times. It allows us to feel the closeness of Jesus.
People discovered God when they looked round at the world and thought it was really beautiful or really mysterious and wondered where it came from. Archbishop Rowan Williams.
Then think of the complexities of all of God’s creatures. The organs, and millions of internal structures that make this incredible part of God’s creation operate in a regular, orderly, and cyclical fashion
God’s beauty is just breathtaking and if you look you can see it all around, sometimes in the most unexpected place.
Like the work of a gifted artist or writer, those with faith in God can see His signature in all creation.
God sent Jesus to the world as an example to help us develop in his image.
Jesus points out how hard rogues work to enrich their earthly lives. So much harder then must we work, he says, to attain our eternal hope with wisdom and love rather than cunning and money though.
The desire for revenge can be powerful. However, St Paul said that we must find different ways of dealing with people who have hurt us. Because being able to forgive breaks the chains of this bondage.
When we accept Jesus’ invitation to participate in his work, then with every act of compassion we offer and every connection we make in His name, we are helping to bring God’s Kingdom ever closer.

This famous hymn is a prayer for God to remain present with the speaker throughout life, through trials, and through death.
Ants might not be everyone’s favourite insect, but they have a lot to teach us in building the Kingdom of Heaven, or anything else in our lives.
